Government Response Received Following Urgent RF-EMF Health Concerns Letter

Date received: 1 May 2026
Government reference: TO2026-00016786

On 30 January 2026, the EM Radiation Research Trust submitted an urgent letter to the UK Government raising serious concerns regarding the integrity, independence, and transparency of World Health Organization (WHO) radiofrequency electromagnetic field (RF-EMF) health reviews, as well as concerns relating to scientific governance and conflicts of interest in international advisory processes.

The letter was sent to:

  • Rt Hon Wes Streeting MP, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care
  • Rt Hon Liz Kendall MP, Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology

Government Response

On 1 May 2026, a response was received from the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), referencing the correspondence as follows:

“Your correspondence dated 30th January 2026, subject ‘FW: Urgent Action Required on the Safety of Wireless Technology and EMF Exposure’ has been passed to Department of Health and Social Care due to their responsibility for this policy area.”

No further substantive response was provided at this stage.

The reply was issued via a generic correspondence team and did not include a named official.

Key Concern Raised in Original Correspondence

The original letter raised urgent concerns including:

  • ♦  Evidence of reported interference in WHO-commissioned RF-EMF scientific reviews.
  • ♦  Concerns regarding bias and conflicts of interest in ICNIRP-aligned processes.
  • ♦  Independent peer-reviewed evidence indicating biological and cancer-related effects from RF exposure in animal and human studies.
  • ♦  The need for an independent, transparent review of the scientific evidence base, separate from existing advisory structures.

The letter also highlighted concerns that current public health guidance may not reflect the full body of scientific evidence.

Current Status

To date, no substantive response addressing the scientific or policy concerns raised has been received.

The matter has been transferred to the Department of Health and Social Care for consideration.

Follow-Up

A formal follow-up response has now been submitted to the Government seeking clarification on the handling of this correspondence, including the absence of a substantive response, the transfer between departments, and the process by which the issues raised will be addressed.

The EM Radiation Research Trust will continue to seek:

  • ♦  A direct and substantive response from the Department of Health and Social Care.
  • ♦  Clarification on the UK Government’s position regarding reliance on WHO RF-EMF health assessments.
  • ♦  Confirmation of whether an independent review of the evidence will be undertaken.

The EM Radiation Research Trust maintains that public health protection requires transparent, independent, and scientifically robust assessment of all available evidence.

🚨 URGENT: Public Health Alert on RF EMF and 5G/6G Rollout 🚨

Date: 30th January 2026

Recent investigative reporting by Microwave News has exposed serious flaws in the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) reviews on radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF EMF), which have been used to justify the global rollout of 5G and 6G technologies. The reports reveal interference, bias, and conflicts of interest that undermine the integrity of these reviews.

In response, the EM Radiation Research Trust has sent a formal letter to UK Ministers, Rt Hon Wes Streeting MP and Rt Hon Liz Kendall MP, calling for independent assessment and transparency in WHO’s RF EMF review process. The letter highlights:

  • ◆  Scientific interference in WHO‑commissioned reviews
  • ◆  Evidence linking RF EMF to cancer, including glioblastoma multiforme (the deadliest form of brain tumour)
  • ◆  Failings in ICNIRP‑aligned guidance that continue to inform public health policy
