EU Bans Full-Body X-Ray Scanners Over Health Risks
The European Union has banned full-body X-ray scanners at airports due to serious radiation concerns. These scanners, which were intended to screen passengers for explosives, expose people to ionising radiation that could increase the risk of cancer and genetic damage.
They are being replaced by millimeter-wave scanners, which avoid X-ray radiation but still raise questions about electromagnetic exposure.
