Dear Fire and Rescue Services Tyne and Wear,
I spotted a news item suggesting a 5G mast fire October 2024 on Monkseaton Drive in Whitley Bay. I would like to thank Emergency services and partners for attending the scene, and for extinguishing the fire. I understand that the police are carrying out an investigation and wonder if it was an electrical fault?

They claim ‘new scientific findings are uncovering unique wildfire risks associated with the proliferation of wireless small cell and macro towers, smart meters and other IoT devices. At the same time, empowered local communities are innovating to address these grave risks. This is a foreseeable and avoidable catastrophe. Susan Foster Medical Writer, USA Advisor for the EM Radiation Research Trust, Honorary Firefighter San Diego Fire Department was part of the USA panel in May 2024 referenced above and spoke on telecommunication fires. Susan Foster said when you see a fire higher on the mast near the antenna or even at the base where ancillary telecommunications equipment may be placed, this is an electrical fire. Electrical fires cannot be extinguished through conventional means (water suppression) until the grid has been cut. In the meantime, the fire can spread, depending on weather conditions.
I would like to obtain the fire incident reports under the freedom of information act in connection with the 5G mast fire in Whitley Bay.
