PLEASE NOTE

‘It has come to the attention of Berwick Town Council that there are proposals for the installation of 20 new communications masts across Berwick, Tweedmouth and Spittal. Th e exact function has not been clarified but appears to be to enable the “Internet of Things” and, as far as we know, will NOT improve mobile phone coverage for our residents.

As these are being done under permissive development rights we as a Town council – and local residents – have had no prior consultation. Each proposed pole is 12 metres high, and all but one are on residential streets, directly outside people’s houses.

We have written to the applicants for more details of appearance and exact use and will update here if and when this information is forthcoming.

Each location has its own planning application so please see all links below – we understand that comments should be received by the end of this week.

The usual objections tab seems to be absent for these applications so please send any comments/objections to our general inbox at info@berwick-tc.gov.uk by noon this Friday and we can collate and send onto NCC.
