📢 U.S. HHS Is Seeking Public Input on EMF, RF & Wireless Radiation

LATEST UPDATE – 22 September 2026

U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has publicly highlighted the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ new Request for Information on radiofrequency (RF) and electromagnetic field (EMF) emissions and their potential effects on human health.

Secretary Kennedy posted about the initiative on his official Facebook page approximately eight hours ago, stating that the MAHA Strategy had given HHS a clear mission to investigate the relationship between electromagnetic radiation and health, identify gaps in current knowledge, and ensure that federal policy keeps pace with rapidly changing technology.

📢 Have you experienced health effects you believe are linked to EMF/RF exposure?

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is inviting members of the public to provide input on electromagnetic fields (EMFs), radiofrequency (RF) radiation, and wireless technologies. This is an opportunity to share relevant information, experiences, research and evidence directly with HHS as it assesses the current evidence, research gaps and future research priorities.

This could include experiences relating to pylons, electricity, mobile masts and mobile phones, Wi-Fi, smart meters, wireless infrastructure or other sources of EMF/RF exposure.

Questions 2 and 3 of the HHS request provide guidance on what you can include, such as the type and timing of exposure, health effects experienced, changes following reduced exposure, and any supporting information.

You can type your response directly into the comment box or upload an attachment.

⚠️ Please note before submitting

Comments submitted to the HHS Request for Information will become public on Regulations.gov.

HHS advises respondents not to include personally identifiable information (PII), personal health information (PHI), or other proprietary, classified, confidential or sensitive information in their response.

The RFI is voluntary, and responses may be submitted anonymously.

🔎 What HHS is seeking information on

HHS says responses will help to:

🔹 Identify and assess the current state of the scientific evidence on RF/EMF exposures and health outcomes

🔹 Compare existing U.S. and international safety standards and regulatory approaches

🔹 Identify research gaps and priorities for future study

🔹 Inform practical, evidence-based recommendations for policymakers, public health stakeholders, families, schools and communities.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 YOUR EXPERIENCE MATTERS

HHS is inviting input from members of the public, individuals, families and caregivers, as well as researchers, clinicians, public health professionals, educators, advocacy groups and others with relevant knowledge or experience.

The RFI provides an opportunity to submit research, evidence, documented experiences, observations and other relevant information concerning RF/EMF exposure and health.

HHS is particularly interested in information that helps distinguish established evidence from emerging findings and areas of uncertainty.

People outside the United States who have relevant evidence, research, observations or experience may also wish to consider submitting a response.

📬 HOW TO HAVE YOUR SAY

The RFI docket is HHS-OASH-2026-0397 on Regulations.gov.

The RFI is signed by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

HHS says it is seeking clear, balanced and evidence-informed information to support decision-making, identify research priorities and inform practical strategies to reduce unnecessary exposure where appropriate.
